The inaugural exhibition, “PILLARS: Stories of Resilience and Self-Determination,” is the premiere of a collective historical narrative of Chicano Park and Logan Heights curated by Josephine Talamantez, Dr. Alberto Pulido, and Valerie Jaimes. This exhibition highlights grassroots led groups and organizations that represent the heart of Chicano Park and it’s history including: Kumeyaay Story, The Chicano Park Steering Committee, Aztlan Youth Brigade, Centro Cultural de la Raza, The Brown Berets, Danza Chichimeca-Tolteca, La Danza Folklorica, Teatro Chicano/a/x, Rolas Inolvidables de Aztlan, Union del Barrio, San Diego Lowrider Council, and Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. The exhibition also showcases an installation by Visionary Elder Artist, Salvador Roberto Torres.
