Community Gallery

The Community Gallery Program at the Chicano Park Museum and Cultural Center is dedicated to fostering artistic expression, cultural empowerment, and professional growth by collaborating with local and regional artists to showcase diverse creative practices. Through exhibitions, workshops, and community engagement, the program celebrates cultural identity, supports emerging and established artists, and enriches the Chicano/ Indigenous community with accessible opportunities for creative exploration and education.

Sueños del Futuro

Sueños del Futuro is a youth-centered exhibition that invites local youth between 12 yrs old – 24 yrs old to imagine the future through art, storytelling, and design.

Grounded in communities historically impacted by environmental racism, displacement, and unequal access to clean air, green space, and resources, this exhibition centers environmental justice as a lived experience rather than an abstract concept. Youth are invited to imagine futures where communities are healthy, land is respected, and people, not pollution or profit, are placed at the center of decision-making.

This exhibition asks a universal and urgent question:

What kind of future do you imagine for your community, and what must change to get there?

This question is especially meaningful within the context of Chicano Park, a place where struggles for land, clean air, cultural preservation, and community self-determination are deeply intertwined. Rooted in this history, artists are invited to imagine forward from their own stories, languages, families, environments, and lived experiences, envisioning futures where their communities can thrive.
